The 2.0 patch for BlazBlue: Central Fiction hasn’t been out for very long in arcades in Japan, and it is coming to consoles soon. But as we well know, tier lists are popular means of looking at the overall balance of the game. Though opinionated and usually lacking the nuance that certain match-ups and player skill carries, they’re nonetheless launching points for discussion. Dora, the ever-popular Bang player from Japan who made it to top 8 at this year’s Evolution, has been active in producing more BlazBlue content. The other day, he got busy creating the latest tier list. The list only used two axes, higher up being top tier and characters below placed as low tier.

Therefore, the order in which they are placed doesn’t signify much. Dora doesn’t specify whether there’s a “letter difference” between them, but here are the names typed out: S: Es, Nine, Platinum, Litchi A: Rachel, Arakune, Carl, Hakumen, Valkenhayn, Hazama, Kagura, Azrael, Hibiki, Makoto B: Susano’o, Naoto, Lambda=11, Nu=13, Mu=12, Relius Clover, Tsubaki, Tager C: Mai, Izanami, Kokonoe, Amane, Izayoi, Noel, Jin, Ragna D: Celica, Bullet, Terumi, Bang, Taokaka Jubei isn’t placed.
Dora also stresses that the balance is closer before, so it’s necessarily true that characters like Jin, Izanami, etc. Are “C tier.” He called the characters in that row “mid tier.” Overall, there isn’t as much of a difference in power as before. Dora says that Es is extremely strong now, especially seeing Ronitta’s performance with her. Platinum also saw some recent usage from top players. Though he points out that Ragna is good against Es. Check out the full video below, where Dora starts to talk about his tier list at about 15:00 in.
