If you have lost or forgotten your National Insurance Number you are able to use this form to help recover your number. Our service fee is £36.00, which includes the printing of your replacement documents and postage costs. You are able to update your personal details when requesting a copy of your National Insurance Number. Please note cards have been replaced with a official HMRC letter. You are able to use this letter as proof of your National Insurance Number.
Your National Insurance Number is with you for life and you are unable to change it. A letter will arrive in the post within 2-4 working day of submitting the replacement National Insurance Number form. The letter will contain your printed CA5403 forms which are ready for you to sign and send in the prepaid envelope provided. All applications are checked for emissions and errors prior to sending. Any error can delay the process of recovering your National Insurance Number. Please note cards are no longer issued by the HMRC and have been replaced with an official HMRC letter.
It can take 3-6 weeks for your National Insurance Number to arrive after sending your signed replacement documents in the post.
